History
Department of Visual Communication Design was established in 2005 and students were enrolled in the graphic department in the same year. Over time, with the development of its academic staff, it aims to admit students to the visual communication and animation departments.
Purpose
The aim of the Visual Communication Design Department is to train creative designers who can solve all kinds of visual design problems, and who can use the advanced equipment required by the age competently. It aims to enable the students to be able to solve design problems and use computer technologies and design software in the most efficient way in the design and production process with the help of a contemporary education program based on theory and practice and courses that develop conceptual problem-solving skills. Students learn by applying the whole process from conceptual design to the printed material stage. Thanks to its close relationship with the market, the department enables the students to come face to face with real design problems and also prepares an environment for institution-supported projects that can be implemented.
Opportunities
The department is in a position to enable the students to carry out all their projects with its original printmaking workshop, screen printing workshop, and computer laboratories developed in terms of software and hardware.

Graduates of the Visual Communication Design Department can work as researchers in their fields; in addition, they can work in many areas related to visual communication such as advertising agencies, broadcasting companies, graphic design workshops, digital production companies, film and animation studios, and design departments of TV institutions. They can work as forensic and medical illustrators, printed publication illustrators and research assistants at universities.
