Erciyes University Faculty of Fine Arts has been awarded the European Union Higher Education Area Strategic Partnerships Support for the design of cartoon and animation education of the future. With the project, it is aimed to produce up-to-date educational materials and tools for the field, especially to design an education curriculum compatible with the technologies used in the cartoon-animation sector and the approaches that result from it, and to produce information that will contribute to the strengthening of the relationship between the sector and educational institutions. Setting a framework for the needs and expectations in the labor market and academia, creating an academic curriculum for higher education institutions, as well as developing experiential and innovative course materials are the expected short-term effects of the project. In the long term, indirect effects are expected for the cartoon and animation industry and for those who plan their careers in this direction. Coordinated by Asst. Prof. Levent ÇORUH, a faculty member at the Faculty of Fine Arts, the European Union Project numbered 2017-1-TR01-KA203-046117 and called, “Collaboration to Design an Innovative Curriculum for Animation Education”, in which Lect. Kürşat Savaş and Lect. Onur TOPRAK take part has been accepted within the scope of Erasmus+ Main Action 2 - Strategic Partnerships in the Higher Education Area (KA203). “It is supported by the European Commission as part of the Erasmus+ Program.
